'Epilepsy During the School Years' presentation:

In June, 2018, the Epilepsy Foundation (Victoria) held a special live webinar presentation tackling the topic ‘Epilepsy During the School Years’.
Silvana was thrilled to be a part of the webinar. Her talk explored the psychosocial challenges associated with epilepsy during the school years, and examined the impact of paediatric epilepsy on children’s social and emotional function, education and learning, and the impact of epilepsy on parents and caregivers. She also presented practical strategies and recommendations aimed at improving the experience of children with epilepsy and their families.

Epilepsy Specialist Series, Family Information Sessions
Epilepsy Foundation
These Specialist Series Sessions are held twice yearly (generally around May & October). The day-long session comprises a morning presentation by Professor Ingrid Scheffer (Paediatric Neurologist), detailing the nature of epilepsy and seizures, and treatment issues. Silvana presents in the afternoon, and examines the cognitive, neuropsychological, and psychosocial impact of epilepsy in children. The series is aimed at parents/caregivers of children with epilepsy.
